To be what the group needs, gamers need to get the best feats that Warhammer 40,000: Darktide has to offer. Better weapons and gear will help, certainly, but they can’t replace the ways that feats can fundamentally change the game for the character.

Level 5 Feat

The Preacher is not highly regarded when it comes to the operative rankings, but this can largely be attributed to the base class. Feats can close the gap between the worst and the best and it all starts with Enemies Within, Enemies Without, restoring toughness anytime enemies are close by.

The other two selections are too conditional. Faith Restored reduces damage taken after dealing a critical hit, but regeneration is more effective. Purify in Blood replenishes more toughness when killing an enemy in melee, but this won’t help against bosses.

Level 10 Feat

All three choices are respectable. Depending on the gear that players decide to equip, any could be considered an option. Retribution is good when it happens, but if players are below these health thresholds, they’re likely in a great deal of trouble. Punishment is effective against waves of enemies.

Ultimately, Bloodletting gets the nod because of its extra effectiveness against single-targets, the toughest units in the game. The Veteran: Sharpshooter’s ideal feats also help them with these bosses, but there simply must be more than one on the team on the hardest difficulties.

Level 15 Feat

Benediction is the clear winner over Inspiring Excoriation. A fifteen percent damage reduction all of the time beats 20% restored toughness on a long cooldown. All three choices benefit nearby teammates, but Benediction is the only sustainable option.

Holy Fervor is another one of those selections like Retribution, it’s only useful if players are getting beat up often. This might be more valuable for newer players as they take more frequent beatings. Once they earn enough Aquilas for better gear, they can flip over to Benediction.

Level 20 Feat

Thy Wrath Be Swift offers move speed bonuses after getting hit, but that’s not all that important. The big deal here is totally immunity to getting stunned by melee hits. That means the Preacher can now swing non-stop without worrying about getting staggered.

Holy Revenant can heal a player back to full after they would die, but this requires taking fatal damage to be useful, which should not be too common after getting geared up. Faith Restores All can be viewed as a simple 25% reduction in total damage taken. That’s nice, but the Preacher is here to deal damage, not absorb blows.

Level 25 Feat

There is very little choice here. Emperor’s Executioner increases ranged damage dealt when enemies are closer but the Preacher is entirely built for melee damage. If enemies are up close, players should be using their melee attack. Honour the Martyr does more damage if players are missing even more health, but this is, like so many other problematic feats, based on the player getting hurt.

With the blazing attack speed of the Peacher, Rising Conviction gives players a flat increase of up to 20% in combat. Against bosses, this boost can put the Preacher on par with the Sharpshooter in terms of damage. Operatives that can’t use automatic weapons will be jealous when they see this kind of output.

Level 30 Feat

All three of the selections improve the operative’s active ability. Fury of the Faithful is helpful in tight moments, giving the Preacher an extra boost of attack speed. Purge the Wicked is also a nice choice, permitting players to queue up Chastise the Wicked back-to-back.

However, the best here has to be Invocation of Death. With good gear and precise strikes, players can virtually guarantee melee critical hits. With each hit reducing the cooldown of Chastise the Wicked, players can come close to casting the move back-to-back and will get to use it frequently throughout their missions.
