To be what the group needs, gamers need to get the best feats that Warhammer 40,000: Darktide has to offer. Better weapons and gear will help, certainly, but they can’t replace the ways that feats can fundamentally change the game for the character.

Level 5 Feat

The best option for this level comes down to mathematics since all of these options replenish toughness. Generally speaking, dealing warp attacks and gaining warp charges demand casting which adds peril. The exact amount of peril varies based on feats and gear players choose to equip, but it’s safe to say most attacks add about 20% at a time.

While Essence Harvest and Warp Absorption pop up in certain circumstances, Quietitude should be functioning every time the Psykinetic isn’t casting. It’s therefore going to replenish the most toughness over time and wins based on its dependability.

Level 10 Feat

Psykinetic’s Wrath encourages players to attack while keeping their peril high. The issue is that forces them to be close to death while also switching weapons back and forth. That’s inefficient. Wrack and Ruin only works when killing an elite in the middle of a mob, a very specific encounter.

Inner Tranquility’s peril resistance allows the Psykinetic to keep casting for longer, getting the most out of each peril. It does incentivize players to hold onto their warp changes, but the push from the active ability is less valuable. It’s skills like this that permit this operative to compete with a Sharpshooter with ideal feat allocation.

Level 15 Feat

Cerebral Lacerations does deserve a look for players who want to do mostly attack damage while letting casting play a backup role. It does demand switching weapons every 5 seconds, though, which is unfortunate. Psykinetic’s Aura helps on higher difficulties with loads of elites but isn’t consistent enough to regard entirely well. Plus, the Psykinetic gets the least out of their own combat ability, this is more for support of the squad.

Psychic Communion may be overlooked because it’s only a 4% chance to gain a warp charge whenever the Psykinetic or a nearby teammate kills a foe, but that averages to once every 25 kills. Easily once an encounter, this can give players another charge to burn or sit on. Suddenly, this class becomes one of the better operatives in the game.

Level 20 Feat

Kinetic Shield only works with full warp charges and against ranged attacks, plus 10% to 33% reduced toughness damage is not exciting. Kinetic Deflection is perhaps the worst feat for any class, Psykinetic’s need their peril for damage and do not need stamina, that’s a terrible tradeoff.

Mind in Motion allows players to run to safety while recharging. Frankly, if players are set on being casters, this is going to be critical to survival. Even gear purchased by earning Aquilas quickly can’t offer a benefit this game-breaking.

Level 25 Feat

If Kinetic Flayer was without a cooldown, it would be incredible, but the 15-second cooldown is only a slight bit of damage on top of the normal loop. Kinetic Overload is a good choice for melee non-caster Psykinetics, but if gamers like this playstyle, they should probably be using a Preacher with better feats for the situation instead.

Warp Battery stacks with Inner Tranquility to give the Psykinetic more casting power. Plus, using a single charge to get out of a bad spot doesn’t take as large of a bite out of the damage output.

Level 30 Feat

Ascendant Blaze and Quicken expend all warp charges, terminating the character’s damage, don’t take either one unless planning on playing as a non-caster. Once again, if this is the case, maybe play a character that can’t use an automatic weapon instead.

Kinetic Barrage is the default choice and it’s a good one. Players should use Psykinetic Wrath every time they hit six warp charges as the faster charges and peril reduction more than makes up for the damage lost. With the other feats selected here, players can have Kinetic Barrage activated consistently after getting to six stacks of warp charges. A permanent 25% faster Brain Burst and 50% peril reduction combine to more than double output when balanced correctly.
