Not all whips are created equally in Warframe, with some having better base stats than others. While pretty much all weapons can do well on the Star Chart if the player mods them well enough, it is better to get the best mods possible to give the player the best chance of doing well on difficult missions. Warframe is a game with great PvE multiplayer and unleashing fury with a whip never gets old.

6 Lecta

The worst weapon in the game, players should look to get the Lecta ranked up for the Mastery and discord as soon as possible, as there are much better options available. It has innate electricity damage, so players will be able to stack damage fairly easily while using it, which does make the grind to rank 30 shorter.

The Lecta can be purchased from the market or from completing the Saturn to Uranus junction. It doesn’t require a Mastery Rank to use meaning players should be able to obtain it from the get go. Players can match this with one of Warframe’s best shotguns as their primary for a strong and intimidating load out.

5 Galvachord

The Galvachord isn’t the worst whip in Warframe, but it by no means the best. As with the Lecta, players using the Galvachord should look to get it to rank 30 for the Mastery and then discard it to move onto whips with better base stats.

The Galvachord has slow attack speed, but as Warframe’s best sniper rifles show that isn’t always too much of a problem. It also has innate electricity damage and high-status chance. It requires Mastery Rank 6 and can be purchased from the market.

4 Scoliac

The Scoliac is a mid-tier whip, being obtainable much later in the player’s journey than other early-game whips such as the Lecta or Galvachord. An Infested whip, the Scoliac has innate Toxin damage. While there are better whips available in Warframe, players can stick with this one if they like using Infested weapons and feel confident in being able to mod it well.

The Scoliac requires Mastery Rank 6 to use and can be acquired through the Bio Lab in the Dojo, which players will have to join a clan to be able to go to. It doesn’t exactly match up to Warframe’s Tenet weapons, but it will serve players in the mid-game.

3 Secura Lecta

The Secura Lecta is a Syndicate version of the Lecta, and comes with better stats and a unique ability where enemies killed by it will drop additional credits scaling with the user’s Mastery Rank. This whip deals Electricity damage meaning it can be modded with Warframe’s beginner mods to deal more offensive damage with less cost.

The Secura Lecta can be unlocked by spending 125,000 standing with the Perrin Sequence after achieving the rank of Partner. This will take players some time to get to, so they should be patient and respect the grind. Players must also be Mastery Rank 8.

2 Atterax

The Atterax is very nearly the best whip in the game, and should definitely be used by players who are a fan of this weapon type. It has high slash damage, critical chance and multiplier.

The Atterax requires the player to be Mastery Rank 5 and can be obtained through the market, making it accessible to all players once they have the required credits and Mastery. The Atterax is great for crowd control making it useful on Warframe defense missions.

1 Verdilac

The best whip in the game, the Verdilac should be the weapon that every player strives to get. It deals Toxic damage when its Tactical Combo is used, and it can of course be modded to do devastating amounts of damage to enemies the player encounters. It is an extremely strong weapon, even being useful on Warframe’s Steel Path.

The Verdilac requires Mastery Rank 13, so players will have to get quite far into the game to be able to get it. It can be acquired through Namar Bounties on the Plains of Eidolon (Day) and Orb Vallis (Night) after the player has completed The New War quest.

Warframe was released in 2013 and is available on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, Xbox One Series X|S, and the Nintendo Switch.
