“As soon as I was going to confront him and tell him ‘You’re going to go to jail,’ he hit me as soon as I walked through the door,” the waitress told the news station.

The altercation was reported to have taken place at Randy’s Restaurant in Miami, and the North Miami Police Department is currently investigating the situation.

The video shows flyers were thrown at the waitress. She then turned around and walked out of the door, which was where she was allegedly punched in the face.

“He punched me really hard, so I fell,” the waitress told WPLG. “I’m shocked because it’s 2021. People know there are consequences for their actions.”

The waitress said the confrontation occurred because the possible suspect was upset over the wait time for his food. Her mother also spoke with WPLG and said she “couldn’t express how [she] felt.”

“Imagine you have your kids go to work and then for things like that to happen to her is just horrifying,” she said.

Though the incident took place nearly a month ago, police are still looking for the man.

Major Kessler Brooks of the North Miami Police Department told Newsweek that the alleged suspect has not yet been identified by name, but the detective is working on the case and is handing out flyers within the area.

If found, the man can be charged with battery.

Newsweek previously reported that four relatives pleaded guilty after one of them stabbed a waitress in Georgia before running away from the restaurant with the victim’s tips.

The attack occurred in July of 2018. According to McDonough Police Major Kyle Helgerson, who spoke with the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the waitress accidentally brushed against one of the relatives. She apologized and went to retrieve the group’s food after they complained about the wait time.

“She came back a second time to serve them with food or drinks and brushed up against [the woman] again,” Helgerson said.

The waitress was stabbed in her forearm, which needed 15 stitches.

Detectives said that anyone with information about the alleged suspect can call the Miami-Dade County Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477.

Newsweek has reached out to Randy’s Restaurant for further comment but did not hear back by press time.
